Last August 20, the La Salle Floorball League (LSFL) concluded with eight (8) teams from the two FTTEAMS (PE) classes, each team headed by De La Salle Manila (DLSM) club members, fighting to get the top spot.

The LSFL started with teams competing against each other in 3v3 matches, where the Thunders came out as champions. Afterwards, the 5v5 matches were played with the Tiger Cubs bringing home the gold after an intense finals match against the Thunders. The White Knights also came out as the 2nd runners-up of the games.

UP Floorball Club hosts the Amoranto QC for a pre-season friendly match

UP Floorball Club  will host a friendly match with the newest club participating in the upcoming Philippine Floorball League (PFL), Amoranto QC Floorball Club. The pre-season friendly match will be held on September 18, 2015 at the University of the Philippines Gymnasium, Diliman, Quezon city at 10:00am. The men’s Amoranto QC will debut on its first floorball match against the country’s pioneer club.

QCHS-demoAmoranto QC Floorball Club was founded in March 2015 based on the Public Youth Floorball program of the Philippine Floorball Association (PFA), when the sport was introduced to the students of Quezon City High School and Manuel Roxas High School. The PFA youth floorball program is a voluntary initiative for the less-privileged young Filipinos to be introduced and to participate in an organized sport program. There were over five hundred interested public school students who registered to learn floorball. With those who continued in the sport program, Amoranto QC club was then established and is now a Member Club of the PFA with about 40 members, 95% of which are youth and children. The Club aims to grow its members to over 80 players by year 2020, developing the youth and making a difference in their community.

The Amoranto QC Floorball Club will be participating for the first-time in the upcoming season 2015-16 of the PFL which will run from October 2015 to April 2016. The PFL is the seasonal Club competition of the PFA for its registered Member Clubs. The purpose of the league is to create a venue to encourage physical activity participation and increase the level of competitiveness among local floorball players.
