PILIPINAS FLOORBALL 2023/24

Floorball, a dynamic and exciting sport, is played between two teams comprising six players each, including one goalkeeper. Utilizing lightweight carbon-material sticks, players aim to score by shooting a hollow plastic ball into the opposing team's goal. The simplicity of floorball—requiring just a stick, ball, and rubber shoes—makes it an accessible and enjoyable game for all.

The Philippine Floorball Association (PFA), initially established as Floorball Philippines in April 2011, serves as the national governing body for floorball in the Philippines, fostering the sport's growth and development across the archipelago. As the 53rd member country of the International Floorball Federation (IFF) and a member of the Asia-Oceania Floorball Confederation (AOFC), the Philippines holds a firm position in the global floorball community.

The recent years have seen remarkable strides in Philippine floorball, with both men's and women's national teams making their mark in international competitions. The men's team showcased an outstanding performance in the 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, achieving a four-game sweep in the eliminations and advancing to the gold medal final for the first time since the sport’s inclusion in the SEA Games.

On the other hand, the women's national team has shown a steady progression in the international arena. Their determination led to a bronze medal finish in the 2023 SEA Games, improving from a 4th place finish in the 2019 edition of the games. Moreover, their performance in the 2022 Women's Asia-Oceania Floorball Cup, where they reached the finals, and their sweeping victory in the preliminary round, reflects the growing strength and potential of women's floorball in the Philippines.

With a burgeoning floorball community, increasing popularity of the sport, and the unwavering commitment of the PFA, floorball in the Philippines is poised for a bright future. Together, we continue to promote and nurture floorball, striving to elevate the sport to new heights in the Philippines and beyond.
